Embracing the Minimalist Way of Life

Imagine a life with less stuff, but instead of focusing on having less, rather focus on making room for more: more time, more passion, more experience, more growth, more contribution, more contentment, and more freedom. That’s how the minimalists do it. Before Americans Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus discovered minimalism and understood the importance of simplifying their lives, they were successful young professionals from Dayton, Ohio. On April 9th the clean-up campaign was held in Belarus showing incredible results: although the numbers are not final yet, we know today that 23 000 people took part in the event. This is a dramatic increase in the numbers of participants in comparison with last year, when only 1500 activists joined the campaign. We asked the Belarus team leaders for the recipe to their success.

The question of environmental justice is central in Israel, as it is a country with severely limited land, growing number of population with significant minorities, limited resources and acute security concerns. Heidi Koolmeister sat down with the director general of Association of Environmental Justice in Israel (AEJI), Carmit Lubanov, in Tel Aviv to discuss the work of her organization, the environmental issues in Israel and the international cooperation in the field.
